What Should I Get My Boyfriend for Christmas?

We are slowly but surely coming up to the festive season once again. Apart form getting excited about all the parties and dreading Uncle Sam’s drunken stories at the family get-together; it’s time to start thinking about what to get for our loved ones. It seems that it is always dads and boyfriends who are difficult to shop for, but while dad will probably be quite happy with a bottle of fine whiskey, a shirt or even some socks, for our boyfriends we want something special.

The boyfriend Christmas gift dilemma is one that engulfs us all. What could we get our boyfriend for Christmas that shows our love, yet makes him jump with joy? Here are some ideas on getting your boyfriend a festive gift he will be smiling about for ages!

Handmade Gifts

Handmade gifts are always special. Any guy would love the fact that this girlfriend has taken time out to make something for him. Handmade gifts can be as simple as a CD compilation that has songs that are special to the both of you. For instance, it may be the song that was playing when you met or during your first date or any music that evokes memories for you both of significant times spent together.

Here is a list of some creative handmade gift ideas including how to make a Christmas gift basket.

Tickets

Whether it’s tickets to see his favorite band, his football team or his most loved comedian, he will love you for it! Getting him this Christmas gift will show that you know what he loves and he will be as excited as a little boy!

Adrenalin Filled Experiences

Men love action and adventure. He will be really surprised and impressed if you get him an experience he will never forget. Whether its Bunjee jumping, sky diving, kite surfing, hang gliding or rock climbing it will get his blood pumping! He will love you for it!

Technological Gadgets

If he is a bit of a geek, why not take him to techie fare where he can marvel at all the latest gadgets! Getting him the latest game console, fantastic software, projector or the laptop he has been pointing at for months will no doubt win you girlfriend points!

Awesome Watches

Watches are a good bet, especially if they do cool things like adjust themselves to time zones automatically, are powered by physical movement or do other crazy things that men and boys will get giddy about.

Video Games

We might wonder what the fuss is all about and maybe even dread them playing with our gift for hours. But the truth is, if you get him the latest game he really wants, he will be putty in your hands!

Board Games

Get him something that the both of you can play together. There are a whole range of board games that are specifically designed to be played by couples, so look out for them.

Clothes

Unless he has made clear suggestions about something particular that he wants, it’s better to stay away from clothes. This is especially important when it comes to getting him clothes you would love to see him in, but he doesn’t normally wear.

Custom Made Gifts

There are a range of services on the internet that can personalize gift items at a very low cost. For instance, Zazzle.com gives you the option of custom made t-shirts, mugs, key chains, hats, buttons and more.

So there you have it! Your boyfriend will be happy as can be and you can spend hours under the mistletoe listening to him tell you how awesome you are. The key to getting your boyfriend a Christmas present is to be creative and remember his boyish tendencies! Have a lovely Christmas and enjoy being the best girlfriend in the world!

hey I am only 14 years old but I can tell ALL OF YOU that you should just get your boyfriend something simple if you have only been dating a couple of months or weeks and he should appreciate it but if you have been dating for years or if you are engaged then it would be a good idea to maybe take him out one night and do something he would like I mean most dates are something like dinner and then movie or skating or bowling or something but take him out dancing or clubbing (: something he would enjoy! hope this helps!

I think a great gift would be just getting him a basket with all the little things he would need such as: razor, boxers, shaving cream, etc. It might sound corny but you never know if he might need them. To make it even more special have a really sweet poem you can write and decorate it nice. It’s both hand made and comes from the heart. Hope this helps. I am to 15 ;)

Haha, the perfect gift to give your boyfriend is something you wouldn’t expect. Boys love sports, technology, girls, exciting things, like paint balling and everything like that.

If he drives, give him things for his car. But don’t over due yourself, if your guy is the romantic type, you should probably lean into giving him something that will mean something to him in the long run.

If you guys took a lot of pictures, you could organize them into how you guys met and fell for each other. If he’s more into sports and stuff like that, lean into giving him tickets to his favorite game, jerseys stuff like that. And if he’s the nerdy type, I would more than likely give him something he fascinates. They mostly like technology.

If your boy doesn’t want anything but you.. that’s adorable. But I wouldn’t not give him anything. Whatever you do, don’t just give him a gift card. It’s the worse present ever. Unless he likes that kind of stuff.

My BF is sporty but I’m not exactly sure what to do with that. I was gonna bake him cookies and get him something else cute but he hates most sweets and I can’t figure out what that something else would be!

  • Mimi says:

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 4 and a half years. He loves soccer but can’t play anymore due to a torn muscle in his knee . I have no clue what to get him and Christmas is Sunday ugh . By the way I am 15 and he is 19 if that helps.

  • Mindy says:

Hey guys. I commented a while back and how I said my boyfriend plays hockey I got him an ornament that was a jersey with his colors and got it personalized.

And he had some dog tags a while back as well which broke, they were cheap. So I went to things remembered and bought 2 new dog tags and a good sturdy chain and had his name and hockey number on one and the date we began dating on the other. He’s gonna love it i know it! Thanks to all who helped! :)

  • Stephanie says:

I’m in the same boat as Mindy here. My boyfriend plays hockey and he loves it, but he doesn’t need anything for it. He isn’t really into video games and i don’t know what kind of clothes he would like. He is really sweet, but I just don’t know what to get.

  • Colleen says:

Hi all! I’m 19 and I’ve been with my boyfriend around 2 weeks. Christmas is a bad time to get a boyfriend haha. I wasn’t going to buy him anything as we don’t know each other well enough but he told me he was getting me something cuddly ( a teddy my sources have informed me!) I don’t know his friends and have no idea what to buy him!

  • Jess says:

I’m 14 and so is my boyfriend. We have been going out for about 10 months. He has already got me a present as he went away for x-mas. The card he gave me with my present had a bear on it and I found the same one on the card but it is an actual bear. I’m thinking to get that and tie a giant lollypop to it’s arm and put $30 in a card. Is this a good idea?

  • Jackie says:

I love the whole heart frame idea and picture of us together. But any other good ideas? I wanna get him a t-shirt with cool design and our names on it (: but is it way too much?

  • Chloe says:

My boyfriend is, difficult. We have only been going out for 1 month and he has gotten me three gifts. He’s such a sweet heart. I still need to get him an Xmas gift. Every time I ask him what he wants, he tells me he wants me for x-mas. I don’t wanna get him cloths cause he isn’t like that. Is it true that all guys like watches? He doesn’t seem like he would like one. He likes Video games, but I don’t know what kinds, and they are really expensive at my mall. I have asked all his friends what he wants and they all say the same thing. “I don’t know, sorry.”

One of my friends said “when in doubt, get your man money and candy.” He might be right. My boyfriend really loves Reese’s peanut butter cups. If I get him one of those Visa Gift Cards would that be like saying I have no idea what you like? It’s so unfair, guys are so hard to get gifts for but girls are really easy to get gifts for. May be I’ll just fill a stocking with Reese’s peanut butter cups and a visa gift card. Wow I wrote a lot. Sorry, but this really helped me. I always type to sort things out. You should try it. :)

  • Sarah says:

My boyfriend is different than most guys. He’s really into sports and video games. At first I was going to get him the new COD game, but then I found out that he already had it. I’m still not 100% sure of what to get him when I ask him he says he don’t want anything, but I’m thinking about a Hurley t-shirt that I seen that is red and blue which are his favorite colors and a George Jones CD, ’cause he’s a country loving, farm boy and his favorite song is Choices by George Jones. I was also thinking about a message jar, but I don’t know if he will like it or not. Anyway, if you have any idea’s for me let me know! I already know what he is getting me, one of his friends spilled the beans.

    - If you’re having trouble deciding, I’d probably get a gift card for his favorite store. If he’s into sports; get a card for a sporting goods store in your area. If he’s musical; get a gift card for a music store. Or, it’s always a great idea to get some movie tickets and take them out for dinner and a movie!

  • Julia says:

My boyfriend told my friend what he is getting me and it came around to me that he is getting me a charm bracelet and earing. And he is so sweet, he is getting me an awesome gift and I have nothing for him and I have to get it in 2 days so help me please I am stuck :( thanks!

  • Bree says:

MY bf and me are big fans of the Shaytards on youtube and I am getting him a Shaytards t-shirt and the shaytards calender that they are releasing from districtlines.com. :) Find out if your boyfriend has a favorite youtuber that he follows and get him some related merchandise.

  • Gkat says:

I’m 14 and my boyfriend is 16. We’ve only been going out almost a month on Christmas, but I want to get him something special! I know he really likes hats and wearing pajamas, but other than that, I don’t really know what he likes! Any ideas are helpful! :)

  • Loren says:

My boyfriend is 17. We’ve only been going out for a couple of months, but he bought me a lovely necklace for my birthday, and I want to get him something he’ll love. He’s into video games, but I really have no clue when it comes to them, or what ones he’s got already. Apart from that, he doesn’t seem to be into anything!

  • Jazmine Hodgson says:

Hi there, I thought that I would give my boyfriend a chocolate statue shaped like a monkey or a football with his name on it as there currently reduced to 3 pound 50 in Thorntons just thought id let you know. But also if you have any other ideas please let me know.

  • Brianna says:

My boyfriend and I are both 15 and we’ve been dating for a little over a month. I asked him what he wanted ad he said I had to think of it all by myself. And he already knows what to get me! He’s into lacrosse, rock climbing, and reading, but I can’t think of anything that he would want. I want it to be something not too corny but still meaningful..

  • Charlie says:

I know he would not wear a dog tag. He’s not really a jewelry type of lad. He’s into sports, games and hi tech things but he has everything already :/

  • Susan says:

Well I think a good gift for a boyfriend could be a personalized dog tag. You could get his name engraved on it and they really don’t cost to much.

  • Charlie says:

I am 19 and my boyfriend’s 18. We have been going out for a year now and even last year I found it hard to find something for him for Christmas. I am quite creative and good with gift ideas but he seems to already have everything! I haven’t got much money at all this year and I am struggling to find something help!

  • Madison says:

I am 18 and have been dating my guy for just over a year. I am planning on getting him a few different things. One thing I’m doing is a stocking and filling it will gift cards and little things he likes. I am also making a calendar of myself for him to put in his garage “man cave”. For a bigger gift I’m getting him motocross gear because its something he needs.

It depends on the guy, but a combined gift of something sentimental like a picture, and something he needs like clothes or tools or whatever he’s into is always a great thing I think. Then you can knock out two birds with one stone :). Hope this helped!

  • Angel says:

Hey I am 14 and so is my boyfriend! He wont tell me what he wants for Christmas, so I am thinking of getting him some cologne from Rue21 and something else and for his birthday I am getting him a shirt.

  • Janise says:

I’m 16 and my boyfriends 17 about to be 18, the beginning of January, we’ve been together for a little over a month. I’ve met his family and both our families spent thanksgiving together and it was a big success! I got gifts for his family but I don’t know what to get him, any suggestions?

  • Jen says:

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 8 months. He told me for Xmas he wanted a kiss, but I feel like I need to give him something more! I may just get concert tickets or something, but I want to give him something more from the heart. Ive also been thinking of taking him somewhere fun then to a restaurant afterwards. Someone please suggest ideas to me other than that and clothing items!

  • Anonymous says:

My boyfriend is kinda ghetto and we have been dating for like 2 months and I don’t know what to get him and I love him with all my heart. Do you think he would like a hat? Like the hat that all ghetto guys wear?

  • Monica says:

@Lily, you should get him all his favorites, put it in a box, and write him a letter :).

  • Amy says:

I cant afford much so I was thinking of buying him the lynx deodorant spray that he likes and can’t get where we live (I am getting it when I go on holiday next week), a CD that I have burned some songs that we both like and our song and also and a picture frame with a picture of us in it. Is this a good idea?

  • Samantha says:

Here’s an idea for all those girls with different boyfriends or for the boyfriend you don’t know much about. Ask him! And if you don’t get a direct answer, refuse to tell him what you would like until he tells you! that’s how I got my boyfriend (14) to tell me (14) what he wanted! Although I ended up not giving him a direct answer either.

  • Sara says:

Well, a good gift would be getting him a gift card to a place he likes to shop or one that has a lot of things that he likes. It’s a small present but at least he gets to pick it out on his own. Just a small treat :).

  • Kayla says:

Mindy, I am in the same boat as you! We have been dating for almost a year and a half and he’s a goalie as well. I have no idea what to get him :/

  • Lily says:

My boyfriend is 17, he doesn’t play video games and he’s kinda corny when it comes to our relationship. I have no idea what to get him. We have been dating for 6 months and I want to get him something he’s really gonna like. I need some help!

  • Mindy says:

I have been dating my boyfriend for almost 2 years now and he loves hockey. He has everything you can ever imagine. He is the goalie for our local team and he doesn’t like many things. I really want to get him something he’ll love, but not too corny. Corny can be cute. I guess it really depends on how corny and why it’s labeled corny to be considered that. I just want something really good i guess. That he can keep. But I don’t want him to think of it as cheesy and lame. What do you get for a guy that doesn’t like many things? I am thinking of printing a good picture of us and make a cute frame for it. Or buy a silver one that says love. Any thoughts? Advice would be great.

  • Whitney says:

Christmas is almost here and I have no clue as to what to get my boyfriend. We’ve been dating for almost 6 months. He knows what to get me but I have no clue. I’ve asked guys at my school and some of his friends. I always got the same response. I don’t know. I’ve asked him a million times. He wants a date with me but I want something more. I need help! Any suggestions?

  • Nicole says:

I love the free kisses idea! But will guys really like that?

  • Yasmine says:

I’m 14 and my boyfriend is 15. I don’t know what to get him for Christmas but he’s really into computers and tagging. I want to get him something special but I don’t know what to give him. Have any suggestions?

  • Kathy says:

If your guy is friends with your friends, get a friend to ask him what he wants. Then you can get if for him.

  • Katarina says:

Hey, I am 17 and my fiance is 19. We are getting married in June, and I am working on getting him a PS3 or a XBOX 360, the new one that just came out :).

  • Ema says:

A framed photo of the both of your together is a great idea. And you can always use one of those romantic heart shaped photo frames. Thank me later!

  • Yang says:

When I was 13-15, I used to buy clothing and electronics for my boyfriend. Maybe buying him something he needs like winter coats or boots, or even maybe what he’s been talking about for a long time. But just be smart about the things you buy.

  • Amelia says:

Hey, well I am 15 and my boyfriend is 16 and he will be 17 in Feb. He is the more skater boy type and is nerdy. I don’t know what to get him!

  • Cassidy says:

Here is an idea to all of you 13 year old out there with boyfriends: don’t spend too much on him now because in a year its going to be another guy your trying to get a Christmas present for.

  • Savanna Cotsenmoyer says:

Okay, so my boyfriend is 15 and I am 14. He loves all kinds of different things. And you are describing a guy that you think is your typical guy. My guy isn’t the typical guy. He is the amazing one! But this gave me no help and excuse me, but I think it’s really sweet to get guys corny gifts. They’ll be like, you so cheesy, and you can say, oh I know and give him a kiss! That’s what I do.

  • Sammie says:

Hey! I am 13 and my boyfriend is actually really lovey when it comes to our relationship. I can’t afford tickets but I know his favorite bands and stuff. I don’t wanna make anything either but i need some more ideas.

  • Lauren says:

Hi, I am 14 and I am stuck for Christmas pressies for my boyfriend! We’ve only been going out for nearly 2 weeks but he’s already been talking about getting me a Christmas present! I really don’t know what to get him. Please help, I am really stuck. Thanks!

  • Kat says:

Me and my friends were thinking about this question the other day . Well , I decided I’m gonna write on little cards 100 reasons why I love my boyfriend and put them all in a jar or box or something. I am 13 and we have been dating for a few months and; I think this is the perfect gift! (:

  • Synthia says:

Well, it’s always a good idea to ask his friends. If they don’t know, try something special like a special evening. Even just a small date is enough to make him smile. Or, it’s always a great idea to go with something hand-made. Like a card or even just “free kisses” tickets. (:

  • Karighen says:

Hi, this is sorta helpful. But the clothes thing really isnt cause my guy really likes hats. I still have forever away to get him something but i have no clue what to get him. This didn’t really rule out anthing or tell me what to get him. So no help here.

  • Gaby says:

Hey guys, here’s what you can do. Find out what your boyfriend’s hobbies are. What he loves doing in his spare time? Base your gift on that. Another idea would be to give a personalized gift. Like a personalized T-shirt with both your names written on it. You can get personalized t-shirts made on sites like Zazzle. It’s quite easy. Good luck!

  • Melissa says:

Hi, I am 13 years old, and I don’t know what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. Your advise didn’t really help because you are explaining a typical lad. But my boyfriend is better than any typical lad, so I want to get him something special :).
