How Accurate are Psychic Readings?

Asking if psychic readings are accurate is like asking  if all doctors give correct diagnoses. The answer will depend on the practitioner.

There are practitioners who are brilliant, there are those who are mediocre and there are the charlatans. Psychic reading has become big business and unfortunately, where there is money to be made, there will always be those unscrupulous few who have no qualms in deceiving people.

However, once you have had a reading with a psychic in the ‘brilliant’ category you will be left in no doubt that some people possess skills beyond the realms of science.

A psychic reader can fall into several categories and the practitioner will use different mediums to access the information they impart to you. A psychic, by definition, is some-one who possesses skills beyond the normal human range. They are portals that connect you with the higher realms. This can sometimes be in the form of medium-ship and communication with people who have died or acting as a link between your earthly consciousness and those of the higher realms.

Psychics use, amongst other things, Tarot decks, crystals or sometimes just a personal object that belongs to the person being read. Psychics and their powers have been utilized in the past by governments and police forces in order to gain insights or amass information not available to them through other means.

Some psychics practice one or all of the skills that fall under the ‘psychic’ umbrella. It is important to check which skills a psychic possesses before consulting them as it may not match what it is you are specifically looking for.

-My Story -

Several years ago I consulted a psychic. Following the death of my grandfather a few years before, I had been unable to find peace and closure concerning the last minutes of his life. My mother, aunt and I had managed to reach the bedside of my grandfather in a mercy dash of hundreds of miles, having been told his death was imminent. He was unable to talk and in fact hardly seemed to register we were there.

The nurse in charge, seeing us all looking so exhausted, informed us it would do no harm to go for a quick break to grab some food, in order to keep us going through the night of our bedside vigil. We took this break, returning to find that my grandfather had slipped away. I was devastated – I hadn’t said goodbye. In the years that followed I was unable to reconcile my emotions and I continued to be troubled. My grandfather had been my hero and I felt I had failed him.

It took me a long while to find the courage to seek a psychic. I was somewhat sceptical and I held little hope that this person would be able to offer me the comfort I so craved.

I admit I entered into the the reading almost with belligerence and a ‘prove yourself, I don’t believe a word of it’ attitude. However, in the course of an hour’s reading I went from highly sceptical to totally convinced.

I told the psychic nothing and barely answered any questions he put to me for clarification as to whether what he was telling me was accurate. He was able to tell me the first name of my grandfather (not a common one) , when he died, what he died of, my family’s mercy dash to his bedside and most importantly of all he was able to tell me things that at last gave me comfort, peace and closure. Granddad had waited until we had all assembled and then it had been time for him to go. He didn’t need us to be there at the exact moment of his passing. He was sorry he hadn’t waited for us but he was tired and wanted to sleep.

The psychic told me many, many things about my granddad’s personality and even recounted some long past childhood memories of mine. He laughed as he ‘talked’ to my granddad and kept telling him to stop fooling about. That was my granddad all over. He also had a message for me – “please put my photograph back” (that would be the one I had taken down two weeks before and never replaced after decorating).

This psychic went on to tell me all of the things that my future held. Without exception he was wrong on every single account! This is a perfect example of a psychic who had brilliant skills as regards medium-ship but had no skill whatsoever elsewhere.

-Questions to Ask a Psychic-

Individuals at some sort of impasse, crossroads or faced with a difficult decision in their life will often consult a psychic. For some people it is a last resort while for others it is their first port of call.

Psychics themselves recommend that you ask particular types of questions in order to get the most from your reading. If your purpose is to gain clarity and direction you will need to be very specific. Asking a question that can only be answered yes or no such as “shall I go back to education?” will not be as useful as asking “how can I go about returning to education?”

Ask questions that break down the problem. In the example above you could ask “how will I overcome the difficulties of juggling family life with education?”

The words that psychics use are ‘empowering questions’.

In some cases psychics are consulted in order to locate a missing object or person and in these cases you would need to ask questions such as “how can I go about finding (person/object etc)?” instead of “can I find……….?”

There are many clairvoyants who give very accurate psychic readings but in some cases it is hard to quantify. Where information is being sought regarding a loved one who has passed away the accuracy is easy to measure, although this may become obvious later and not necessarily at the time. Where an individual is seeking insight and direction to a particular problem, the psychic is only acting as a portal between the client and his higher consciousness. In these cases success is harder to measure.

The accuracy of psychic readings will depend, of course, most heavily on the skill of the practitioner. Try and consult only those that come with many recommendations from different sources or who have read some-one you know who can tell you about it.
