Food Ideas For A Picnic

Last month was me and my partner’s four year anniversary. We wanted to do something special and low key. We had done restaurants, theme parks and even bungee jumping the previous years so we were stuck for ideas.

Of course there have been many occasions where we had eaten together outside, on the beach and at the park, but we came to realise that we had never had a “proper” picnic. So this how we came to the idea, we decided to have a posh picnic in the countryside, among the beautiful green fields and the abundant forest. Our motto was “four years and more years” so this had to be something special!

Of course, you may be looking for ideas for a family picnic, or perhaps you want a no fuss picnic. Whatever picnic you are planning, here are some ideas.

Romantic Picnic Menu

Since this was a special romantic occasion, we decided to include red and pink in our menu and our favourite finger food for that no fuss yet special factor. We also opted to bring champagne flutes, but make sure to wrap them up, so you don’t break them!

Adults- Why not make things simple and stick to sandwiches, the adult versions can be more creative: cream cheese and salmon, classic BLT’s or mozzarella, tomato and avocado.

No Fuss Easy On the Pocket Menu

A no fuss picnic can include pretty much anything! How about humous, zaziki and other dips pre- bought? These are cheap, involve no preparation and the only other thing you need are some vegetable sticks, such as carrots, cucumber and celery. You can bring a bag of chips, to double up the use of dips!

Whatever you decide to bring to your picnic, you are guaranteed to have a lovely time! Enjoy the outdoors and picnic away!
