Health Benefits of Gold Coin Grass

Written by: Denice Arthurton

Gold Coin Grass is one of the herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, so called due to the similarity of its leaves to that of gold coins.

The correct botanical name is Desmodium Styracifolium but is popularly known as Gold Coin grass which is a literal translation of the Chinese name.

This herb has been in use in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.

What are the Health Benefits of Gold Coin Grass Herb?

Traditionally, Gold Coin Grass has been used to treat gallstones and kidney stones naturally.

Continued use of the herb will work on crushing the stones into smaller pieces that can then be passed out of the body.

Blockages in the gall bladder which prevent efficient functioning can have serious health implications. The gall bladder acts as a reservoir for bile, the substance that is needed to facilitate bowel lubrication and the efficient digestion of fat. The gall bladder works in conjunction with the liver for optimum functioning as the liver alone is not able to produce bile fast enough.

In cases of gall stones the end result is often the surgical removal of the gall bladder which can have lifelong implications for the patient. It is of course far more beneficial to a patient if the stones can be removed naturally and this is what Gold Coin Grass can be used for.

Gold Coin Grass and ‘Flushing’

As Gold Coin Grass doesn’t dissolve the stones, small pieces of the stone will stay present unless they are ‘flushed’ from the system. There are many methods recommended for doing this and some advisers suggest only doing so under medical supervision.

The simplest method seems to be that of digesting a daily mixture of olive oil and lemon juice.

The natural astringent properties of lemon will work to tighten and constrict the gall bladder thus adding pressure to the elimination of stone residue. The mixture also stimulates a greater bile secretion which will act as further lubrication to ease the passing of the stones.

Gold Coin Grass is available in tablet form, known as Lidan, but seems to have greater efficacy in a tincture form. Some reports suggest 100% success rates with Gold Coin Grass, however results are often slow and can take as long as 11 to 12 months.

Although there are no known side effects of Gold Coin Grass, the process of passing stones naturally can result in symptoms caused by the release of toxins into the body’s systems. These may manifest as headaches, nausea, fever, muscle pain and earache.

As with all medical conditions, it is advisable to seek professional advice for proper diagnosis and before considering your options.
