Samples For Writing A House Warming Invitation

If you are planning a house warming party one of your considerations will be the invites and the wording required for the house-warming cards that you send out. House-warming parties can be extremely formal or extremely casual and your style of invite will need to reflect this. As with all invites you need to make it very clear what type of occasion and theme of party you are inviting your guests to thus avoiding any misunderstandings or embarrassments.

How do I word a house-warming invitation?

This can vary greatly but should be a reflection of your own personality and the type of party you will be hosting. When people receive formally worded invitations they will assume it is a formal occasion and vice versa. Therefore, don’t send out a light hearted and contemporary style invite if you are planning on a formal meal for guests in dinner wear.

Whatever style you choose be sure to include the following details:

  • venue or address
  • date
  • time
  • name of the hosts
  • RSVP requests
  • maps or directions
  • requests such as food contributions or bring your own bottle
