5 Uplifting Prayers for Positive Energy

Prayer in nature

Have you ever said to someone “sending good thoughts” when things are not going their way? This is effectively a form of prayer. No matter your religion, positive prayers can be incredibly powerful as they are believed to have a strong effect on the psyche. So regular positive prayers can help you to live each day with determination, love, and empowerment.

6 prayers for positive energy

We have all felt down or despondent at one point or another. Yet we have the power within ourselves to change our perception by focusing our intent and calling on the powerful energies that surround us. Here are 6 examples of positive prayers that you can adapt to your own needs:

1. Short morning prayer for positive energy

This short prayer is a great way to start your day and prepare yourself for the events ahead:

“May my worries be less and my blessings be more.
May good health and happiness come through my door.”

2. Prayer for cleansing negative energy

This positive prayer would be most beneficial after a period of personal hardship when you want to cleanse all the negativity from your life and make a new start:

“I AM now choosing to cleanse myself
and release all thought forms,
beings, situations, and energies that
are no longer of service
to my highest and greatest good…
Across all planes of my existence,
across all universes,
and across all lifetimes.
I ask that all energies that are
less than love
be transmuted for the highest good of all.”

3. Prayer to help you connect with the universe

This is a beautiful short prayer (which is also an Apache Blessing) that will help you to connect with the universe around you as it encompasses all four of the earth’s elements:

“May the sun bring you new energy by day.
May the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your worries.
May the breeze blow new strength into your being.
May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.”

4. Gratitude prayer to uplift your energy

Amidst the rush of modern-day life, it can be easy to forget what is important in our lives. This prayer will help you to focus on the things you are grateful for:

“I am thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
I am thankful for the mess I have to clean up after a party because it means I am surrounded by friends.
I am thankful for the taxes I pay because it means that I am employed.
I am thankful for the household chores because it means I have a home.
I am thankful for my heating bill because it means I am warm.
I am thankful for the far-away parking spot because it means I can walk.
I am thankful for the early morning alarm clock because it means I am alive.”

5. Prayer for protection

This positive prayer is one for the protection of your home and your loved ones:

“Earth, Air, Sea, and Wind,
Bless my family and my friends.
Power of Love and Hope and Light,
protect me onwards through the night.
Guard my home against things that creep,
Good spirits watch us as we sleep,
by Fire, Storm, Earth, and Sea.
As I speak – so mote it be.”

6. Prayer for good luck

Have you ever wished your luck would change? For it to happen, you have to believe it!

“The winds of change I feel tonight,
the waters are calm and the sky is bright,
Luck be mine, come into me,
my desires are true, so mote it be.”

Best time to pray to attract positive energy

One of the best times to recite a positive prayer is when you first wake up. There is something magical about the early hours of the morning when the sun peaks over the horizon and the world starts afresh. It is the perfect time to set your intentions for the day ahead!

Alternatively, positive prayers can be spoken just before you go to bed to calm your mind and aid a good night’s sleep. Saying prayers at this time are also more likely to impact your subconscious mind, which will help you to wake up with a more positive attitude.

These are the best times to say positive prayers however, there are no strict rules. The truth is that you can say them whenever you feel the need to; as long as your feelings and intentions are real.

How to make your prayer more effective?

There are numerous religions around the world yet all of them perform some sort of prayer because it is a powerful language that can impact the mind, body, and spirit. Yet prayers are useless if you do not believe the words you are saying. This is why it is so important for you to find the words that encompass YOUR feelings and emotions – speak your truth and the universe will listen.

Here are 8 points to bear in mind to make your prayer more effective and help you attract positive energy.

1. Let go and relax

Ensuring you raise the appropriate energy whilst reciting your positive prayer is just as essential. Make sure you are calm, focused, and empowered before speaking your words as this will help your subconscious mind to react to your prayer and soak up the meaning behind it. If you are angry, then your aura is not in balance and it can throw off the intent of your positive prayer.

To calm down and raise your vibration, consider long, deep abdominal breathing. Around 15 to 20 deep conscious breaths should suffice.

2. Clear your space using a ritual

Clearing away negative energies from your space will provide a clean, neutral environment for you to set your intentions. There are countless ways you can do this but perhaps the most common is by using the four earth elements; Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Cleansing rituals can be long or short however, as a guide, here is a semi-formal cleansing ritual that you can adopt:

You will need a stick of incense (sage is a good option), a red candle, a bowl of saltwater, and a crystal or stone to represent the earth.

First, take a few minutes to center yourself by taking deep breaths. Then light the incense and draw a circle around yourself in the air, saying:

“Air, I invite you in to cleanse this space.”

Then take the lit red candle and carefully move around the circle with it, saying:

“Fire, I invite you in to cleanse this space.”

Repeat this process with both the earth and water elements and then take another few minutes inside the circle to allow the elements to cleanse you too.

3. Clear your mind before you pray

The best way to cleanse your mind before any ritual is by taking a spiritual bath. Consider adding appropriate herbs to solidify your intent too.

Alternatively, meditation is a fantastic way to clear your mind of negativity. Simply close your eyes and focus your mind on taking long deep breaths, feeling the cleansing air travel through your body. When you breathe out, imagine any negative feelings being released.

To make your meditation process even more focused, you can try dabbing an essential oil behind your ears. Lavender is great for this as it is known to have the ability to instill a sense of calm. Other options include Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Palo Santo.

4. Pray with your heart

Positive prayers don’t have to be elaborate or poetic. The most important thing is that your words are heartfelt. Something as simple as “I pray for the protection and health of my family” will work just as well as a much longer prayer.

5. Be specific

The more specific you are about what you want, the more powerful your prayer will be so try to be as detailed as you can. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to get rid of? Some people find it helpful to write down all of their troubles beforehand as this works to help you focus on what you are needing in your life.

6. Maintain proper posture

Your posture can make a huge difference in the effect of your prayers. Have you ever noticed that if you stand up straight instead of slouching, you instantly feel more energized and empowered? It has the same effect when you are performing rituals. If you prefer, you can also sit cross-legged on the floor, ensuring that your back is straight and your shoulders are relaxed.

7. Express gratitude

Positive prayers are not just about asking for things. Sometimes a prayer can simply be a few words of gratitude. Is your family healthy? Do you enjoy your job? Do you have a loving partner? Think about all the things that make your life fulfilling and try to spend a few minutes focusing on all the positivity that surrounds you.

Sometimes this is all you need to clear away negative thoughts. Everyone has something to be grateful for, sometimes we just need reminding of that.

8. Praying out loud versus in your mind

It can be scary saying words out loud, especially if there are other people in the house. However, it really is the best method when it comes to reciting positive prayers. Traditionally, ritualistic words have been called out for the universe to hear. Some cultures also sing their words which is believed to raise more energy than just speaking them.

The trouble with saying the words in your mind is that you are already tainting the effect with negative emotions. How can you believe the words if you are too scared to speak them? Saying that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with repeating short mantras in your head whenever you need to, such as ‘I am strong and I am worthy.” These can really help to empower you when things get a little difficult.

Conclusion

Positive prayers can give us the strength to overcome all of life’s little challenges. By living life with a positive and grateful attitude, we can learn to tackle issues head-on, with the knowledge that we have the power within us to get past them. Positive thoughts have an incredibly powerful effect on the mind so try coming up with your own prayers and see the difference they can make in your life.
